Facial Plastic Surgery Options
Facial plastic surgery is one way to greatly enhance your appearance and impart the look of youth to the outside world. There are a number of different options to choose from and it may be hard to decide which one is best for you. Our Bala Cynwyd and Philadelphia plastic surgeon will help determine which surgical options will best meet your needs during a consultation. In the meantime, here is a brief overview of several facial plastic surgery options, including facelift, rhinoplasty (nose job), eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), and other facial rejuvenation surgery options.
Facelift
A facelift is performed in order to help eliminate the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes and forehead and to help lessen the droop of the jowl area. During the surgery, a discrete incision is made along the hairline, through which your surgeon will excise excess fat and tissue and tighten underlying structures. The facelift is one of the staples of a facial rejuvenation treatment, and it may be combined with multiple surgeries.
Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)
If you are unhappy with your nose--whether the appearance is not to your liking, your nose has been injured, or you have breathing issues due to nasal structures--then a rhinoplasty can help improve appearance and function. During the surgery, your surgeon will make select incisions in which to adjust the cartilage and tissue of your nose.
Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Drooping eyelids can be a problem. Not only do they look unappealing, but they also can impede visions, which is potentially dangerous. An eyelid surgery can help eliminate wrinkles on the eyelids and minimize drooping. Some may elect to undergo this surgery to add an additional fold in the eyelids where one did not exist previously, which gives the eyes a more open look.
Other Facial Rejuvenation Options
Numerous facial surgery options exist apart from the ones listed above. Otoplasty (ear pinning), browlift surgery, cheek implants, chin surgery, and other surgical options may be used as needed. You may even consider non-surgical options to enhance your face, such as BOTOX® injections and other treatments. Your surgeon will help decide which options are best for your needs.
