Tummy Tuck in King of Prussia, PA

Dr. Paul M. Glat, MD, FACS performs tummy tucks on those living in and around King of Prussia, PA.

What Is a Tummy Tuck?

A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is a type of surgical cosmetic procedure used to remove extra skin and fat from around the abdomen. In addition, the procedure will tighten the muscles around the abdominal wall. A tummy tuck is not the same as liposuction; however, liposuction can be performed at the same time to bring about a flatter and smoother result.

How Is a Tummy Tuck Performed?

A tummy tuck can be performed under local or general anesthesia. Typically, an incision is made along the bikini line and the muscles in the abdomen are moved and sutured in an effort to make them tighter. At that point, the skin of the abdomen will be brought over the muscles and excess fat and skin will be cut away and removed. A new navel will be made, and the incision will be sutured for healing and recovery.
