Breast augmentation is one of the most common procedures that I perform. What breast augmentation involves is placing an implant to enhance both the size and the shape of your breast. It’s available to women of all ages, whether you’ve had children or whether you have not had children. The procedure involves placing either a silicone or a saline implant under your breast and we will discuss the differences between these two types of implants at your consultation. What we’ll also discuss is the incision that we use to place the implant, what you can expect after your surgery, whether the implant’s under your muscle or above your muscle. The recovery, typically, is about one week and you can go back to work or resume your normal activities at that time. And we’ll also discuss the long-terms effects of having an implant in place in your body after the surgery. This is one of the most common procedures, as I said, but it’s also one of the highest patient satisfaction procedures.
