I also have a lot of patients come to me who are men, complaining of increased breast tissue or breast size. This is a condition known as gynecomastia or male breast enlargement. It’s a very common operation where we remove breast tissue from under the nipple, either by directly excising the tissue or by liposuction or a combination. A lot of these men are very self-conscious about their appearance. They won’t take their shirts off and go to the beach or just go swimming and so they’re very uncomfortable with it and this is a wonderful procedure to enhance their self-esteem and allow them to live more normal lives.
