We offer several different skin care treatments here in the office such as microdermabrasion, which is a mechanical exfoliation. It’s done with a machine and it takes off the top layer of dead skin cells. We offer chemical peels and basically they help to address discolorations on the skin, help out with hormonal imbalances or dehydration or that lackluster that you get to your skin. Where skin care and plastic surgeons kind of came together was when somebody would come in and they would have some type of facial treatment done with a plastic surgeon. He would tighten the skin, but then the quality of the skin was still lacking and that’s where the aesthetician came in. It was a matter of changing what areas need to be changed such as discolorations, broken blood vessels, just the overall glow to the skin and then that only enhanced what the doctors’ procedures look like after the effects. It--typically what we do here, every time somebody comes in for a cosmetic procedure, we like to get them into the skin care and we like to kind of tie it in so when you leave the office, essentially, you’re leaving with beautiful, healthy skin.
