NOW PLAYING: Facial Injectables

Facial injectables are an area that have grown very rapidly in the last several years within plastic surgery. Filler materials are injected through the skin into areas that require more volume, either wrinkles or areas of depression within the face. This is an area to help prevent the signs of aging with minimally invasive techniques. There are several types of fillers available. The most commonly used one is Restylane, which is a hyaluronic acid and it’s injected typically into the lips, the nasal labial folds and in other areas in the face. Juvederm is another material that has become more available recently, very similar to Restylane and also used in the same areas. Another type of filler that we use very commonly is something called RADIESSE. This is a hydroxy appetite material which is injected into the deeper tissues of the face and it can be used as a more volumizing effect to increase the volume and the fullness of the face. And, finally, Sculptra is another polylactic type of material which is also used similar to RADIESSE in the deeper tissues of the face more as a volumizer. All of these materials will be discussed with you at the time of your consultation to discuss the pros and cons of each.
