How Is PRP Used for Hair Restoration?

PRP hair restoration in Philadelphia involves the use of Platelet Rich Plasma to stimulate the body’s own hair growth. It is an outpatient procedure that requires no downtime whatsoever. Since it is a minimally-invasive procedure, there is no discomfort with it either.

Top notch experience!

The staff was very professional, and I am very happy with the results of the procedure.

How is PRP for Hair Restoration Performed?

Dr. Morgenstern will begin by numbing the area with a topical anesthetic. A staff member will then collect a sample of your blood so it can be “spun” in a special machine. This machine is designed to separate solids and liquids to create a solution that has an extremely high concentration of platelets. PRP is then put into a syringe that is injected just under the scalp’s surface. The procedure can take 60 to 90 minutes.

Preparation

Wash your hair thoroughly just before a treatment session to ensure your scalp is clean. Avoid using hairspray or styling products on it during this time.

Recovery

Following PRP hair restoration in Philadelphia with Dr. Morgenstern, you can resume your daily activities immediately. You may experience a slight numbness in your scalp which should disappear in a few hours.

What are the Benefits of PRP in Hair Restoration?

Patients often choose PRP because it is a simple and safe procedure that includes numerous benefits, including:

  • Minor or no risk for reaction
  • Stimulation of hair follicle growth
  • Reduction of miniaturization, or hair follicle shrinkage
  • Provides positive results for both women and men
  • The benefits are gradual

Benefits of Tier 1 Treatments

  • Noninvasive
  • Surgery free
  • Can be done in the comfort of your own home
  • Can be used long term and for maintenance
  • Fast and convenient
  • Can be used as a preventative treatment
  • Safe and effective

Fortifying hair at an early stage with any of tier 1 treatments can strengthen hair follicles and slow thinning and increase the overall quality of your hair. These treatments will help repair damage from various factors including environmental, over styling, stress, and poor nutrition. If the protocol is followed properly, you will develop stronger, thicker and healthier looking hair.*

How much does PRP for Hair Restoration Cost?

This will depend on the extent of thinning hair and the exact results you are trying to achieve. As such, the cost is different for everyone and can only be discussed after undergoing a consultation. We offer CareCredit® as a financing option. Also, check our Current Specials.

Is PRP Right for My Situation?

If you have thinning hair, PRP can be effective to help regrow thinning hair, but should not be used to fill in bald patches. Your scalp also needs to be free of any lesions or open sores.
