During his decades as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Glat accomplished many successful results due to his experience and skill in the complex field of cosmetic procedures. Dr. Glat assisted countless women, men, and children with reconstructive procedures throughout Bala Cynwyd and Philadelphia.

Education and Background

Dr. Paul M. Glat grew up in White Plains and graduated cum laude in 1984 from Princeton University. He then graduated from New York University, where he served as class president, before completing thorough post-graduate training in surgical techniques and advanced training at NYU Institute of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Part of this training included study at the Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital, allowing Dr. Glat the opportunity to work with international leaders in the field.

A Life-Long Commitment to Children’s Care

Dr. Glat’s experience and expertise in handling delicate reconstructive surgery on children came from a craniofacial surgery fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then joined St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children staff to lead the Plastic Surgery Division.

Starting in 1998, Dr. Glat served as the Chief of Plastic Surgery and the Director of the Burn Unit at St. Christopher’s Hospital, where he attended to the care of more than 3,000 children with burn injuries. As an internationally renowned wound and burn care expert, Dr. Glat had extensive research opportunities, was well-published in the field, and was asked numerous times to speak on topics related to burn care, reconstructive surgery, and more. Additionally, he coordinated the annual John A. Boswick Burn and Wound Care Symposium in Maui, Hawaii.

Dr. Glat was an in-demand speaker and guest lecturer for numerous topics in cosmetic and reconstructive surgical techniques, having the opportunity to present work throughout the U.S., South America, India, Europe, and Australia.

He taught medical students as a Professor of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine, and his writing and clinical research have appeared in major plastic surgery textbooks and more than 50 publications. Dr. Glat was also honored by being featured on both NBC News and ABC.
